Great place, Naz was brilliant

Indian food in London to die for

Enjoyable experience all round
Well above average, tasty food with good service. All of the usual Northern Indian/ Bangladeshi dishes available but with their own interprerations giving a subtle twist to produce excellent food. Beautiful Atmosphere, Great Food, but Let Down by Pushy Service”
We recently booked a meal here during a trip to London. The restaurant itself is beautifully designed, with clear attention to detail in both the layout and decor, creating a pleasant dining atmosphere. The staff were attentive—perhaps a little too attentive at times. Unfortunately, the upselling during the ordering process was quite frustrating. I was feeling unwell (which, of course, the staff couldn’t have known), so we opted for a simple meal: poppadoms, mains, and minimal sides. Despite this, the person taking our order repeatedly tried to push for starters, even after we politely declined multiple times. The same happened when we ordered naan bread with our mains—they kept asking if we wanted additional sides, which became a bit much. That said, the staff were friendly and checked in regularly to see if we needed anything, which we appreciated. My wife thoroughly enjoyed her Madras, noting that it was perfectly spiced. I ordered the butter chicken, but it was unexpectedly spicy. Butter chicken is typically mild, so this caught me off guard. Given how I was feeling, I couldn’t finish it, but if I’d been well, I think I might have enjoyed it despite the spice level. A thoughtful touch was the complimentary treat they offered since we were celebrating a special occasion, which we really appreciated. Overall, we would return, but the persistent upselling during the ordering process should be addressed. It detracts from an otherwise pleasant dining experience.
